Care. Medium to bright indirect light keeps the stripes strong; it tolerates dimmer rooms but variegation fades. Water when the top inch dries â it stores water in thick roots and tolerates misses. Brown leaf tips usually mean fluoride in tap water or very dry air: filtered water and occasional misting help. The babies root in water or soil in days. Feed monthly or not at all.
Watch for: brown tips (water chemistry), and a crowded, root-bound pot (dividing recharges it). Fully non-toxic to cats and dogs â many cats legitimately love chewing the grassy leaves, and that's fine (the plant regrows).
